Zachary Booth

Zachary Booth is an American actor born in 1983 who earned a BFA from the University of Michigan in 2004. Before establishing himself in New York, he performed in multiple productions with the Peterborough Players in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

Booth built his early screen career through supporting film roles, appearing in Assassination of a High School President alongside Mischa Barton and The Marc Pease Experience with Ben Stiller. In 2009, he was cast in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock as part of a hippie naturist group. That same year, he appeared in Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist in the role of Gary.

His stage work in New York began Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons, where he co-starred with Victoria Clark, Michelle Park, and Jonathan Groff in Craig Lucas's Prayer for My Enemy in 2008. He returned to Playwrights Horizons in September 2010 to star in the New York production of Edward Albee's Me, Myself & I. During this period, Booth also appeared in the television series What Goes On and on FX's Damages.

On film, Booth took a lead role in Ira Sachs's Keep the Lights On, which opened on September 7, 2012. His Broadway career spanned 2013 to 2018, during which he appeared in The Winslow Boy. From 2018 to 2021, he played Horace Gilmer in To Kill a Mockingbird at the Shubert Theatre.

In an interview with Logo TV, Booth publicly addressed his identity, stating that as an actor embraced by the queer community, he could not conceal who he is while continuing to benefit from that support.
