Yvette Cason is an American actress and former Miss Black America from Washington, D.C., whose career spans Broadway, film, and television.

Cason received her early musical training at the Sewell Music Conservatory in Washington, D.C. She went on to serve as an understudy for the role of Effie White in the original 1981 Broadway production of Dreamgirls, and continued her association with the show through its 1985 international tour and 1987 Broadway revival. Her Broadway career extended through 1997 and included a credit in Play On!

In 1996, Cason originated the role of Dahlia, the wicked stepmother, in the original run of Sisterella. Twenty-five years after first understudying the role of Effie White, she returned to the Dreamgirls story in the 2006 feature film adaptation, this time portraying May, the mother of Deena Jones, a character played in the film by Beyoncé Knowles.

Cason has also worked in television, appearing in an episode of the sitcom The King of Queens as Mrs. Blanchard in the episode titled "Road Rayge."
