Yancey Arias

Yancey Arias is an American actor born on June 27, 1971, in New York City, where he was raised by his Puerto Rican mother, Miriam, and his Colombian father, Tony. He attended Moore Catholic High School and St. John's Preparatory School, and also participated in Stagedoor Manor, a performing arts summer camp. He went on to study theater at Carnegie Mellon University before beginning his professional career.

Arias made his Broadway debut in Miss Saigon in 1992, working on the production in different capacities over several years. He returned to Broadway in 2000 with a starring role in The Wild Party, rounding out a stage career that spanned from 1991 to 2000.

In 2001, Arias relocated to Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife, actress Anna Alvim. His television work includes the role of Miguel Cadena in the NBC series Kingpin and Gabriel Williams in the FX series Thief. He also appeared on Knight Rider during its first half season and in a 2004 recurring role on the sitcom Half & Half, playing the love interest of the character portrayed by actress Essence Atkins. In July 2013, it was announced that Arias would portray Carl Villante, the head of an elite investigative unit, in the ABC series Castle. He later played Colonel Cortez in the USA Network series Queen of the South in 2017 and appeared as Neto in The Cleaning Lady in 2025. His film credits include a role in Cesar Chavez.
