Will Kemp

Will Kemp is an English actor and dancer born on 29 June 1977 in Hertfordshire, England, to Barry and Rosalind Kemp. He grew up in King's Langley and attended Rudolf Steiner school, later training at the Royal Ballet School. He has two younger sisters.

At age 17, Kemp was accepted into the dance company Adventures in Motion Pictures. There he secured the lead role of The Swan in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, a production he performed from 1997 to 2000 across both London and Broadway. His Broadway appearance came in 1998 as part of that run.

Kemp's film career began in 2004 with Van Helsing, in which he portrayed Velkan Valerious, a gypsy prince who becomes a werewolf, appearing opposite Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. That same year he featured in two Francis Lawrence-directed Gap advertisements alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, titled "Color" and "Shine," part of the brand's "How Do You Share It" campaign. He had previously appeared in a 2002 Gap commercial directed by Peter Lindbergh. Despite being offered a modelling contract with Giorgio Armani, Kemp declined, stating he did not want to be perceived as a model rather than an actor.

In 2007, Kemp appeared in the West End revival of Equus starring Daniel Radcliffe, taking on the dual roles of the horse Nugget and The Young Horseman. The role of Nugget required him to wear a wire horse mask and metal hooves and carry Radcliffe on his back. He later appeared in Step Up 2: The Streets as Blake Collins, director of the Maryland School of the Arts and brother of the character Chase Collins. He also played Mr. Darcy in the Hallmark Channel's "Loveuary" series of Jane Austen adaptations.

Kemp and his wife, Gaby Jamieson, have two children: a daughter, Thalie, born in 2005, and a son, Indigo, born in 2008.
