Wilfred Noy, born Wilfred Noy Blumberg on 24 December 1883 in South Kensington, London, was an English actor, film director, screenwriter, and producer whose career spanned the silent era and beyond. He died on 29 March 1948 in Worthing, Sussex.
Noy built a substantial career behind the camera, directing more than 80 films between 1910 and 1936. Among his directorial work was The Lost Chord, a remake of an earlier British production he had helmed, which brought him to the United States in 1925. He remained in America through the late 1920s to direct additional films before eventually returning to Britain.
In addition to his directing work, Noy appeared as an actor in 18 films between 1924 and 1939. His screen roles included Dr. Joseph Warren in Janice Meredith (1924), Dr. Gray in Interference (1928), Mr. Redding in The Doctor's Secret (1929), and Lord Durhugh in The Careless Age (1929). He continued acting into the 1930s, with credits including Emma (1932), The Barton Mystery (1932), Menace (1934), and The Body Vanished (1939), among others.
Noy also worked in the American theater, appearing on Broadway in 1923 in The Dancer. He was the maternal uncle of actor Leslie Howard.
