Whitney Kershaw is an American actress and singer born on April 10, 1962, in Orlando, Florida. She is recognized across both stage and screen, with a career spanning Broadway, television, and recording work.
Kershaw made her Broadway debut in 1982, originating the role of Sillabub in the landmark production of Cats. Her television work has been equally prominent, and she is perhaps most widely recognized for playing Merilee Gunderson during the first season of the sitcom Major Dad, a role she held in 1989 and 1990.
Her television credits extend across a broad range of programs, including The Wonder Years, Valerie, Knots Landing, L.A. Law, Simon & Simon, Jake and the Fatman, Hunter, HeartBeat, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, A Letter to Three Wives, Longarm, Quicksilver, Covenant, Two Fathers' Justice, and Something Wilder. Earlier in her career, Kershaw sang the closing theme song for Big Blue Marble, a syndicated children's television program that aired in the mid-1970s and was produced by her father, Robert Wiemer.
Kershaw is married to Glenn Kershaw. Her eldest daughter, Lily, is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles.
