About

Warren Burton (October 23, 1944 – October 2, 2017) was an American actor whose career spanned Broadway, television, film, and voice acting. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Roosevelt High School and the Art Institute of Chicago before beginning his professional acting career in Chicago theatre. He subsequently relocated to New York to pursue broader opportunities in the industry.

Burton's stage work included Broadway and Off-Broadway productions such as Gypsy, Hair, and A Patriot for Me, the last of which marked his Broadway appearance in 1969. His transition from the stage to screen brought him considerable recognition in daytime television, where he became a recurring presence from the late 1970s through the 1990s, frequently cast in villainous roles. He portrayed Eddie Dorrance #3 on All My Children between 1978 and 1979, a performance that earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the 1980 awards broadcast. His subsequent daytime credits included Jason Dunlap on Another World from 1980 to 1982, Warren Andrews on Guiding Light from 1983 to 1987, Phillip Hamilton on Santa Barbara from 1988 to 1989, and Dr. Hepler on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1995.

His film work included the made-for-TV movie The Girl Most Likely to... in 1973 and the 1993 theatrical film Gettysburg, in which he portrayed Confederate general Henry Heth. Beginning in the late 1990s, Burton shifted significantly toward voice acting for video games, contributing to titles including the Jak and Daxter series, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Psychonauts, Age of Mythology, Battlezone II: Combat Commander, and Nox.
