About
Vivian Rushmore was an American actress whose Broadway career spanned from 1906 to 1920, during which she took on leading roles in a number of productions across that period.
Among her earlier stage credits, Rushmore appeared in the 1907 production Belle of Mayfair, in which she played a debutante. She returned to Broadway in 1912 for The Lady Slipper, a Cinderella-themed production in which she portrayed a fairy godmother. That same year, Munsey's Magazine ran a portrait of her, reflecting her visibility as a stage figure during this period.
In 1914, Rushmore was cast in The Money Makers, a production by playwright Charles Klein, as well as in Miss Information. She continued working steadily through the latter half of the decade, appearing in Fast and Grow Fat in 1917, an adaptation of the story "Five Fridays" in which she performed opposite Roy Atwell. The following year she appeared in The Squab Farm, taking on the role of a screenwriter. In 1919, Rushmore portrayed Bernice Warren in The Girl in the Limousine. Her stage credits also include Merchants of Venus.
Beyond her theatrical work, Rushmore maintained a presence in print media. In 1921, Theatre Magazine featured an image of her dressed in a white chiffon outfit, in character, as part of a broader spread on fashion in opera.
