Violet Farebrother (22 August 1888 – 27 September 1969) was an English actress born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, who built a career spanning stage and screen across more than five decades. She died in Eastbourne, Sussex.
Farebrother began her stage career in 1907 and gained early theatrical experience touring with Frank Benson's company. Her Broadway work came in 1947, when she appeared in productions of Hamlet and King Lear. In the Hamlet production, she played Gertrude opposite Donald Wolfit in the title role.
Her film career ran from 1911 to 1965 and encompassed 25 appearances. Among those credits were three films directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
