About
Vincent Rodriguez III is an American stage and television actor born on August 10, 1982, in San Francisco, California. Of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese heritage, Rodriguez grew up in nearby Daly City and has three older sisters, all born in Manila. He completed his formal training at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, graduating in 2003, and is additionally trained in martial arts.
Rodriguez relocated to New York City in 2005 and built his stage career through ensemble work in regional theatre productions. His Broadway career spanned from 2004 to 2012 and included appearances in Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Xanadu, Anything Goes, and Pippin. Alongside his stage work, he teaches annually at drama schools.
On television, Rodriguez had early bit roles on The Onion News Network and Hostages before achieving his breakthrough in 2015, when he was cast as Josh Chan, the romantic male lead in the CW comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. As a gay actor taking on a straight romantic lead, his performance in that role received notable attention. Rodriguez has been married to Gregory Wright since 2015.
