About
Victoria Pedretti is an American actress born on March 23, 1995, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was raised Jewish and had a bat mitzvah. She is of part Italian ancestry and was diagnosed with ADHD at age seven. Her interest in musical theatre first emerged during her years at Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburgh, where her professors advised her against pursuing an acting career.
Pedretti began her professional work in 2014 with roles in two short films, Sole and Uncovering Eden. Her breakthrough came in 2018 when she portrayed Eleanor "Nell" Crain in Mike Flanagan's Netflix supernatural horror series The Haunting of Hill House, a role that earned her Saturn Award and MTV Award nominations and established her reputation in the horror genre. A follow-up series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, was released in 2020 with Pedretti in the lead role of Danielle "Dani" Clayton. For that performance she received a Critics' Choice Super Award nomination and won Best Frightened Performance at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
Concurrent with her work on the Haunting series, Pedretti joined the Netflix thriller You, playing Love Quinn in the second and third seasons, released in 2019 and 2021 respectively, after directors cast her following her earlier work and her on-screen chemistry with co-star Penn Badgley. She received an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Villain for her performance. She reprised the role in a cameo appearance in the fourth season in 2023.
Pedretti made her feature film debut in 2019 in Quentin Tarantino's comedy-drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, portraying Leslie Van Houten. In 2020 she appeared in the pilot episode of the anthology series Amazing Stories as Evelyn Porter, and played Katherine in the biographical drama Shirley. In 2021 she appeared in a cameo role in Kacey Musgraves' Star-Crossed: The Film, a companion feature to Musgraves' album of the same name, with footage from the film later used as the music video for Musgraves' song "Simple Times." In 2023 she played Irma Eckler in Ava DuVernay's biographical drama Origin. The following year she starred as Angel in the thriller-drama Ponyboi, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
In 2024, Pedretti made her Broadway debut in a Sam Gold-directed revival of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People at the Circle in the Square Theatre, marking her first stage credit. Gold noted that she won the part through her audition work, demonstrating her ability as a stage actress. Following her Broadway appearance, Pedretti expressed an interest in continuing to work in theater. She subsequently headlined an Off-Broadway production of Philip Ridley's Tender Napalm.
Pedretti currently resides in New York. She briefly dated her You co-star Dylan Arnold in 2021 and Fred Hechinger in 2024. In 2025 she announced her engagement to photographer Ethan Delorenzo. Upcoming projects include the films If She Burns, written and directed by Alex Wolff; The Non-Actor, written and directed by Eliza Callahan; and The Last Day, directed by Rachel Rose, which is inspired by Virginia Woolf's 1925 novel Mrs Dalloway.
