Vicki Frederick is an American actress and dancer born on January 2, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her career has spanned Broadway, film, and television, with work extending from the late 1960s through the 1990s.
Frederick's stage career developed in close association with choreographer and director Bob Fosse, whose productions shaped much of her Broadway work. She appeared in Fosse's Pippin in 1972 and returned to work with him in Dancin' in 1978. Her other Broadway credits include Minnie's Boys (1970), The Rothschilds (1970–1972), Tricks (1973), Cyrano (1973), and The Pajama Game (1973–1974). Frederick also performed in A Chorus Line, first playing the role of Cassie in 1977 and later returning to the production in 1985 to play Sheila.
On screen, Frederick had a small role in Fosse's 1979 film All That Jazz. She went on to star in director Robert Aldrich's final film, All the Marbles, in 1981, and appeared in the rock musical film Body Rock in 1984. Her portrayal of Sheila Bryant, a dancer described as sassy and elegant, in the 1985 film adaptation of A Chorus Line brought her additional recognition. Frederick also appeared on television, with guest roles on Mork and Mindy and Happy Days in 1979, and Murder She Wrote in 1990.
