About

Tracy Middendorf is an American actress from Miami, Florida, whose work spans stage, television, and film. She trained at the Conservatory of Theatrical Arts at SUNY Purchase before beginning her professional career.

Middendorf entered television in 1992 playing Carrie Brady on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. The following year she made her feature film debut in Wes Craven's New Nightmare, taking the supporting role of Julie. Through the 1990s she accumulated a range of television credits, including a recurring role as Laura Kingman during the fourth season of Beverly Hills, 90210, as well as appearances on Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The X-Files, Angel, Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope, and Millennium. Her performance in Tennessee Williams's Orpheus Descending the following year earned her an Ovation Award nomination.

In 1998 she relocated temporarily to the East Coast, appearing in two productions: Ah, Wilderness! at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater, which marked her Broadway debut, and The Big Knife in Massachusetts. Returning to Los Angeles, she performed in Williams's Summer and Smoke, winning the Ovation Award for best leading female performance. In 2002 her performance in Stephen Sachs's After the Fall, which ran for seven sold-out months at the Fountain Theatre, earned her a second Ovation Award as well as the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award.

During the 2000s Middendorf took on guest roles in Six Feet Under, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Cold Case, along with recurring roles in 24, The Division, Alias, and Lost. Her film work during this period included Mission: Impossible III, The Assassination of Richard Nixon, El Cortez, and Just Add Water.
