About

Tracee Chimo Pallero is an American actress born in 1983 in Saugus, Massachusetts, whose work spans stage, television, and film. Her father is of Albanian descent and practices Albanian Orthodox Christianity, while her mother is of Irish and Italian ancestry and is Catholic. Chimo divides her time between New York City and Los Angeles.

Chimo's stage career gained significant critical attention in 2010 through her Off-Broadway performances in two productions, Bachelorette and Circle Mirror Transformation. New York Times critic Erik Piepenburg highlighted the striking contrast between her two roles that season, noting the difficulty in believing the same actress inhabited both characters. Elisabeth Vincentelli of the New York Post described Chimo as "a master of the comic silent reaction" for her work in Circle Mirror Transformation. That production earned her an Obie Award, a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance, and a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress. She also received a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress for Bachelorette. In 2011, Chimo was awarded the Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Actress in New York City, and received a Stage Scene LA Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Drama for her work in Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon.

Her Broadway credits include Harvey, Noises Off, Irena's Vow, The Heidi Chronicles, and Angels Fall, with her stage work spanning from 2009 to 2026. Her 2012 appearance in the Broadway revival of Harvey drew praise from New York Times critic Charles Isherwood, who called her performance excellent and remarked on her capacity for physical transformation between roles. That same year, Chimo originated the role of Daphna Feygenbaum in Joshua Harmon's dark comedy Bad Jews, playing the production's antagonist. The role became a career-defining turn, earning her an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress, a Drama League Award nomination for Distinguished Performance, and the 2013 Rising Star Award from the Salem State University Alumni Association. In 2014, she won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for the role.

On television, Chimo joined the cast of the TBS comedy series People of Earth when it premiered in 2016, playing Chelsea Healey. It was on the set of that series that she met Canadian cameraman Richard Joseph Pallero, whom she married in 2018.
