Tom Plotkin is an American actor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin whose Broadway career spanned from 1997 to 2006. He is best known for originating the role of Willard Hewitt in the Broadway production of Footloose.
Plotkin was a member of the original Broadway companies of several productions during his career, including Seussical, High Fidelity, and The Triumph of Love. His origination of the role of Willard Hewitt in Footloose stands as one of his most prominent stage achievements.
Beyond Broadway, Plotkin performed the role of Berger in the City Center Encores production of Hair. He also took the character of Berger on an international tour of Hair, performing the role in three languages: French, German, and English.
His off-Broadway work includes a stint in Forbidden Broadway, and he can be heard on the cast recording Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back.
