Tom Judson

Thomas R. Judson, born November 14, 1960, is an American actor, composer, and writer whose career spans Broadway, off-Broadway, film scoring, and cabaret performance.

Judson appeared on Broadway between 1998 and 2002, with credits in Cabaret and 42nd Street. He also performed in national touring productions of both musicals. His off-Broadway work includes appearances in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and White Cotton Sheets. As a composer, he contributed music to the films Metropolitan, Good Money, and The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love.

In 2003, Judson began a career in gay pornographic film under the name Gus Mattox, retiring from that industry in 2006. During his time in the field, he received the GayVN Awards Performer of the Year Award in 2006. His final project under that name was appearing as RuPaul's leading man in Starrbooty. Following his retirement from pornography, he was cast in the world premiere of Terrence McNally's Some Men.

In the early 2000s, Judson pursued house flipping in the Hudson Valley, a venture that concluded with the collapse of the housing market in 2008. His real estate activities received coverage in The New York Times.

From 2009 to 2011, Judson wrote and performed the autobiographical one-man show Canned Ham. Material drawn from that production and from his Huffington Post column was later compiled into his essay collection Laid Bare. Since 2011, he has performed his own cabaret act and has worked as musical director and Second Banana for Charles Busch's cabaret performances.

In 2017, Judson launched an Etsy shop selling t-shirts that reproduce poster art from Broadway productions and signage from classic films.
