About
Tom Fuccello (December 11, 1936 – August 16, 1993) was an American actor born in Newark, New Jersey, whose career spanned stage, television, and film across more than two decades.
Fuccello began his career in theatre, establishing himself on Broadway between 1967 and 1979. His stage credits include Are You Now or Have You Ever Been, Postcards, Saint Joan, Butterflies Are Free, and The Unknown Soldier and His Wife.
His transition to television brought him his first notable screen role, playing Mark Elliot on the daytime soap opera Love Is a Many Splendored Thing from 1972 until the series was cancelled in 1973. He subsequently portrayed Paul Kendall on One Life to Live from 1977 to 1979. Beginning in 1979, Fuccello took on the recurring role of Senator Dave Culver on the primetime series Dallas, a character described as the former stepson of Donna Culver Krebbs, played by Susan Howard. He continued in that role through 1991.
Among his other television appearances were Knots Landing, Simon & Simon, The Colbys, Falcon Crest, and Beverly Hills, 90210, as well as the television movie Sidney Shorr: A Girl's Best Friend and the 1990 production Rock Hudson. His final screen credit was a role on The Young and the Restless in 1992.
Fuccello died on August 16, 1993, at the age of 56, of AIDS.
