About
Tim Talman (born Timothy C. Talman on February 23, 1965) is an American actor working in stage, film, and television. He is the youngest son of the late William Talman, the television actor best remembered for portraying Hamilton Burger, the district attorney who faced off against Perry Mason. Talman appeared alongside his family in an anti-smoking public service advertisement. He was later interviewed for an HNN article examining his father's legacy titled "Medical: Remembering the Man Who Always Lost to Perry Mason and then Died of Cancer."
Talman's Broadway career spanned from 1990 to 2009 and included three productions: Peter Pan, The Who's Tommy, and Wicked. He made his Broadway debut in Peter Pan opposite Cathy Rigby, taking on the roles of Cecco, a Pirate and Indian. His work in The Who's Tommy included performing alongside Alice Ripley as The Lover, a role he had previously originated in the European premiere of the production in Offenbach, Germany. He also collaborated with Pete Townshend during the first U.S. national tour of the show. In Wicked, Talman replaced Matthew Stocke in the Los Angeles company on February 12, 2008, playing the Witch's Father and Ozian Official. He subsequently moved with the cast to San Francisco, where he originated that role in the sit-down production at the Orpheum Theatre, which opened on February 6, 2009, and ran through September 5, 2010.
Beyond Broadway, Talman's stage work extended to national touring productions of Miss Saigon, Man of La Mancha, and West Side Story. In August 2007, he appeared in the Hollywood Bowl's concert presentation of South Pacific, and later that year joined the Reprise! production of Damn Yankees at the UCLA Freud Playhouse.
Talman's film credits include the role of Dylan in the 2005 film My Demon Within and FBI Agent Cade in Jon Turteltaub's National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, released in 2007, a role that was the subject of an article titled "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets—History, Chemistry, and Comedy." In 2013, he appeared in American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper, and in 2016 he filmed House of Sticks alongside Jack McGee. His television appearances include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Moonlight, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and 24.
At Universal Studios Hollywood, Talman was an original cast member of the Beetlejuice production, which also featured Eden Espinosa, a former Wicked cast member, as well as Spiderman Rocks. He also performed the role of the Deacon in the Waterworld Stunt Show. In 2012, Talman joined the Los Angeles Police Department.
