Timothy Joseph O'Connor was born on July 3, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to build a career as an American character actor across stage, film, and television. He died on April 5, 2018, at his home in Nevada City, California, at the age of 90, following a diagnosis of colon cancer.

O'Connor appeared on Broadway between 1961 and 1962, with credits that include the play General Seeger and the production First Love. Prior to relocating to California, he resided on an island in the middle of Glen Wild Lake in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, approximately 30 miles from Manhattan.

Throughout his screen career, O'Connor became recognized for portraying officials, military figures, and law enforcement characters. Among his most prominent television roles was Dr. Elias Huer in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. He also played Jack Boland in General Hospital and Elliot Carson in the long-running serial Peyton Place, and held a recurring role on Dynasty. Additional television appearances included multiple episodes of both Cannon and Barnaby Jones.

His film work includes The Groundstar Conspiracy and Across 110th Street, both released in 1972, as well as Sssssss in 1973. Later in his career, O'Connor appeared in the 2011 film Dreams Awake alongside his Buck Rogers in the 25th Century co-star Erin Gray. He also served as a director for The Foothill Theater Company in Nevada City, California, prior to the organization's closure.
