Tijuana T. Ricks is an American actress originally from Metairie, Louisiana. She earned a degree in psychology and performing arts from Washington University in St. Louis before going on to receive her MFA in acting from the Yale School of Drama.
Ricks made her Broadway debut in 2013 in A Time to Kill, where she played a court reporter named Norma. Prior to that stage milestone, she originated the role of Cora Lee in the musical adaptation of The Women of Brewster Place.
Her television work spans multiple prominent series. On Showtime's Billions, she held a recurring role as Tonelle "T" Burton. Across several Marvel Cinematic Universe series — Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist — she recurred as reporter Thembi Wallace. Additional television credits include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where she portrayed Dr. Marnie Aiken, OB/GYN, Law & Order, in which she appeared as Sgt. Royce, and the long-running soap opera Guiding Light, where she played Nurse Maggie.
On film, Ricks appeared in The Savages alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney. She has also appeared in numerous television and radio commercials throughout her career.
