About
Thor Fields is an American actor and guitarist born on September 19, 1968. His professional career began in television commercials before expanding into theater, television, and film.
Fields made his Broadway debut in 1978 in The King and I, the revival production starring Yul Brynner and Constance Towers. In that production he served as understudy for the role of Louis, the teacher's son, and also worked as a swing for the Royal Children. His Broadway work continued with Camelot, the 20th Anniversary revival production, in which he was cast as Tom of Warwick. That production starred Richard Burton, Christine Ebersole, and Richard Muenz. In 1981, Richard Harris replaced Burton, and Fields remained with the company as it continued to tour and perform at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre, where the production was filmed for HBO. His verified Broadway credits span the years 1977 to 1981.
Beyond Broadway, Fields appeared in additional stage productions including Mensch Meier at the Manhattan Theatre Club, the role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the American Theater of Actors, and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He also appeared in A Month in the Country, a Turgenev play produced by the Roundabout Theater Company, which starred Tammy Grimes, Farley Granger, and Amanda Plummer.
On television, Fields portrayed Erich Aldrich on the NBC soap opera The Doctors from 1977 until 1980. In 1981 he appeared alongside Carroll O'Connor in an episode of Archie Bunker's Place, and in 1983 he played Jasper Kent in the ABC production Horatio Alger Updated: Frank and Fearless. His film credits include the role of Danny, the son of Shelley Long's character, in Hello Again, and a role in Misplaced, starring John Cameron Mitchell.
Fields lives in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan with his wife, singer Julie Reyburn.
