About

Ted Henning is an American actor, screenwriter, producer, and video game and animation producer whose career has spanned stage, television, film, and interactive media.

Henning began his performing career in theater, appearing in the Off-Broadway production The Moon Dreamers in 1969. The following year, he took on multiple roles — St. Augustine, Mailman, Dragon, and Alvin — in the Broadway production Gloria and Esperanza, staged at the ANTA Playhouse in 1970. He also provided the English voice of Lung Tai in the 1971 film Blood of the Dragon.

His feature film work includes the role of Robert Campbell in The Lincoln Conspiracy (1977), Mr. Wetzle in Our Winning Season (1978), Jimmy in The Prize Fighter (1979), Ted in The First Turn-On! (1983), and Fabian Marks in Livin' Large! (1991). On television, Henning was a regular cast member on Tush, also known as The Bill Tush Show, and played Chip Taylor in the unaired CBS sitcom The Elvira Show. He portrayed Darrel Gordon on the daytime drama Port Charles. His guest appearances span a wide range of series, including Guiding Light, Matlock, In Living Color, Northern Exposure, Babylon 5, Melrose Place, Murder She Wrote, Early Edition, and The Pretender, among others. His television movie credits include Unconquered, A Winner Never Quits, Miss America: Behind the Crown, and A Pocket for Corduroy, an adaptation of the children's book of the same name.

As a writer, Henning wrote the 2008 film Uncross the Stars, which starred Daniel Gillies, Barbara Hershey, Ron Perlman, and Irma P. Hall. He co-wrote several animated projects, including Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year (2002), which earned him a DVD Exclusive Awards nomination in 2003, Piglet's Big Movie (2003), and Winnie the Pooh: 123s (2004). He served as a director and writer on The Showtime 30-Minute Movie, work that brought him a CableACE Award nomination in 1995. He received an additional Cable ACE nomination for Two Over Easy and served as associate producer on the Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie adaptation of Calm at Sunset, Calm at Dawn. He also produced the children's storybook CD Storytime Favorites.

Henning was among the founding partners of the online animation studio Scream Therapy, where he created and produced games, music videos, and animated shorts. He worked as a creative producer at Gigawatt Studios, where he produced Expedition: Mars, a post-ride attraction at the Mission: Space center at Disney World. His games production work includes projects for Mattel, Radio Shack, Microsoft's GameZone, and Sony. He also worked at XLT Studios and later served as director of product education at Athenahealth.

Henning holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and was pursuing a master's degree in Education Technology at National University.
