Taylor Bright

Taylor Bright is an American actress, musical artist, and songwriter born in 1993 who grew up in Philadelphia. Her early involvement in the performing arts led to stage work as a child, and she went on to build a career spanning theater, recording, and songwriting.

Bright's theatrical career began at a young age, with a role at the Walnut Street Theatre in Annie Warbucks in 2004. The following year, at age 12, she earned a part in the 30th Anniversary National Tour of Annie, which brought her to Broadway in 2005. Her stage work continued with a production of Carousel at the Walnut Street Theatre in 2006, as well as American Girl Circle of Friends in New York that same year. She later appeared in 13 The Musical at Godspeed Theatre in 2008 and performed in Camplified in 2009 and 2011.

Alongside her theater work, Bright developed an early interest in songwriting, having written her first song at age 10. At 15, she released a homemade video for her original song "Striped Socks," which spread internationally and brought her widespread attention. DJ Mike Rizzo subsequently remixed the track, and his version entered the Billboard Dance Club Play Top 50 chart, reaching No. 29 and spending 11 weeks on the chart. In 2010, Bright received a Grammy nomination for her contribution to Healthy Food For Thought in the Spoken Word category.

Bright attended Brown University while continuing to pursue both music and acting, and has also been based in Los Angeles as part of her ongoing career in the entertainment industry.
