About
Tara Summers is an English actress born on 19 December 1979, whose career spans stage, film, and television. She was educated at Heathfield St Mary's School in Berkshire before going on to study at Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 2001. Her grandmother was Fritzi Gordon, an Austrian-born bridge player who held the rank of WBF World Grand Master and claimed four world titles.
Summers made her Broadway debut in 2019, appearing in the play Ink. Her stage work also includes Gypsy of Chelsea, a one-woman theatrical show she both wrote and performed in, which draws on her own childhood and follows her mother's path through cocaine addiction and into recovery.
Her screen career includes a role in the 2006 film Factory Girl, and she spent two seasons, 2007 and 2008, playing Katie Lloyd on the television series Boston Legal. She subsequently appeared in the first half of the debut season of the CW mystery drama Ringer, and in 2014 took on the role of Leanne Zander in the Fox dramedy series Rake. Beyond acting, Summers directed the music video for Snow Patrol's 2011 single Called Out in the Dark.
Summers married Anthony Shrubb in June 2025.
