Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, in New York City, was the daughter of Geraldine and Eugene Pleshette; her father managed Brooklyn's Paramount Theater. She trained at Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts before studying with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. Her three marriages were to "Rome Adventure" co-star Troy Donahue, Thomas J. Gallagher III, and fellow actor Tom Poston.

Her film credits include "The Birds," "Spirited Away," "The Geisha Boy," "Rome Adventure," "The Shaggy D.A.," "Fate Is the Hunter," "A Rage to Live," and "Youngblood Hawke." On television, she appeared in "Dr. Kildare," "The Bob Newhart Show," "Leona Helmsley: The Queen of Mean," and "Will & Grace." In 2008, she received a star on the Walk of Fame.
