Susan Vanita Diol is an American actress born on May 25, 1962, in Marquette, Michigan. She was raised in Palatine, Illinois, and Worthington, Ohio, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. Before her on-screen career, Diol performed in children's theatre productions in Illinois.

Diol made her Broadway appearance in 1986, stepping in as the replacement for Amanda Plummer in the Shaw play You Never Can Tell, where she played Dolly Clandon. Her run in the production lasted from October 9, 1986, to January 25, 1987.

Her television career spans more than forty series across multiple decades. In 1990, she appeared in two episodes of Night Court as Donna, the sister of Dan Fielding, played by John Larroquette. The following year she appeared in the Seinfeld episode "The Nose Job" as Audrey. A 1995 episode of Wings featured her as a call girl whom Joe and Brian mistakenly select as a rebound date for Antonio. Diol also took on recurring and guest roles in science fiction television, portraying Carmen Davila in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Silicon Avatar" and Doctor Danara Pel in the Star Trek: Voyager episodes "Lifesigns" and "Resolutions." She played Beth Calavicci, the first wife of Al Calavicci, in two episodes of the original Quantum Leap series, which ran from 1989 to 1993, including the series finale. When Quantum Leap was revived, Diol reprised the role of Beth across five episodes spanning both seasons of the revival, which aired from 2022 to 2024.

Her television work also includes soap opera appearances. From November 2001 to March 2002, she temporarily took over the role of Alexis Davis on General Hospital, covering for Nancy Lee Grahn. She returned to General Hospital in June 2023, this time as Nurse Clara. Additional credits include NCIS and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Diol appeared in several television films, including Popeye Doyle (1986) as The Blonde, A Perry Mason Mystery: The Case of the Jealous Jokester (1995) as Ivy West, and Alien Nation: Millennium (1996) as Marina Del Ray. Her film credits include the French production Reality (2014), in which she played Gabby, and Loqueesha (2019), in which she played Cindy.

Diol has been married four times: to Jerry Rapp from 1991 to 1993, to Shaun Cassidy from 1995 to 2003, to Andy Cadiff from 2003 to 2010, and to William Newkirk from 2014 to 2016.
