Sterling Jarvis

Sterling Jarvis is a Canadian actor, singer, and songwriter originally from Nova Scotia who is based in Toronto, Ontario. His career spans stage, television, voice acting, and music recording.

Jarvis appeared on Broadway in The Book of Mormon between 2011 and 2012. His stage work in Canada has included productions of Caroline, or Change, We Will Rock You, Of Mice and Men, The Lion King, Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris, The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez, and Ruined by Lynn Nottage. His performance in Ruined earned him a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination in 2011 for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Principal Role – Play, and his work in Caroline, or Change brought him the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Musical in 2012.

On television, Jarvis has accumulated guest appearances across a wide range of series, including Undergrads, The West Wing, The Eleventh Hour, 'Til Death Do Us Part, The Border, The Bridge, InSecurity, Warehouse 13, Covert Affairs, Suits, Lost Girl, Nikita, and Degrassi: Next Class.

As a voice artist, Jarvis provided the singing voice for Donkey Kong in Donkey Kong Country and voiced the character Radicles in the OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes episode "Rad Likes Robots," the Cartoon Network series created by Ian Jones-Quartey. He also recorded the theme music for the television series Zoboomafoo.

Jarvis has worked as an R&B songwriter and performer. As a member of the group Spunkadelic, he co-wrote the single "Take Me Like I Am," released in 1990, which received a Juno Award nomination. In 2011, he released the solo single "Alone With You" on Canopy Records.
