Stephen Plunkett

Stephen Plunkett is an American actor born on September 1, 1981, in Jacksonville, Texas. His father works as a Presbyterian minister and his mother as a special education teacher. Plunkett pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Evansville before earning a Master of Fine Arts from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Following graduation, he relocated to New York City to begin his professional career.

Plunkett made his Broadway debut in 2011 with War Horse, performed at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. His work in New York theater extends across a range of productions, including The Orphans' Home Cycle, Gone Missing, This Beautiful City, On the Levee, London Wall, and Dada Woof Papa Hot. He is an associate artist of The Civilians, the New York-based investigative theater company.

On screen, Plunkett was cast in Russell Harbaugh's short film Rolling on the Floor Laughing in 2010, which went on to screen at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. In 2013, he joined the cast of John Magary's The Mend alongside Josh Lucas and Mickey Sumner; the film had its premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2014. In 2017, he was cast as Robert Saunders in the NBC series Rise. Plunkett received a Drama Desk Special Award in 2010.
