About

Stephen Geoffrey Miller, born November 22, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an American actor who works professionally under the name Stephen Geoffreys. He began his career on the stage before transitioning to film and television work across multiple decades.

Geoffreys made his Broadway debut in 1984 in The Human Comedy, a musical adaptation of the William Saroyan novel. His performance earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical, as well as the Theatre World Award, which he received that same year.

His screen career gained momentum in 1985 with several film appearances, including Heaven Help Us, in which he played a character named Williams, and Fraternity Vacation, where he portrayed Wendell Tvedt. That same year he appeared in a segment of The Twilight Zone television series. His most recognized screen role came in the 1985 horror film Fright Night, in which he played "Evil Ed," a teenage misfit who becomes a vampire. The film also starred Roddy McDowall, William Ragsdale, and Chris Sarandon. When approached to reprise the role in Fright Night Part 2, Geoffreys declined in order to take the lead role in 976-EVIL, released in 1988, in which he played Hoax Arthur Wilmoth.

Additional film credits from the 1980s include the drama At Close Range, in which he played a supporting character named Aggie in 1986, followed by an appearance in the television series Amazing Stories in 1987 and The Chair in 1988. In 1990 he appeared in Moon 44, and in 1991 in Wild Blade.

After a lengthy absence from mainstream film, Geoffreys returned to the screen in 2007 with a supporting role as Mr. Putski in the independent horror film Sick Girl. Subsequent credits include New Terminal Hotel and Mr. Hush, both in 2010, and three 2011 productions: The Diary of Randy Rose, Emerging Past, and Bite Marks. He later appeared in Do Not Disturb, Lazarus in 2014, and Check Point in 2017. Emerging Past also featured actor Brooke McCarter, known for The Lost Boys. On March 28, 2015, Geoffreys appeared at the Mad Monster Party convention wearing his Evil Ed costume from Fright Night.
