Stephen D. Newman, born January 20, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, is an American actor whose career has spanned stage, television, and film.

Newman's Broadway career extended from 1971 to 1983 and encompassed a range of productions. His credits include Rex, Habeas Corpus, Dirty Linen & New-Found-Land, Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth, and The Misanthrope. His final Broadway appearance came in 1983 in a production of Molière's The Misanthrope, in which he played Philinte alongside Brian Bedford. The role earned Newman a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play.

Beyond the stage, Newman worked in television and film during the early 1980s. From 1980 to 1981, he held the recurring role of Barrett Marshall on the NBC daytime drama Texas. In 1982, he appeared in the film Sophie's Choice.
