Shirl Bernheim was an American actress born Shirley Raphael on September 21, 1921, in Manhattan, New York City. She grew up in the Bronx, New York, and later adopted her married name as her professional name. Bernheim died on March 30, 2009, in Englewood, New Jersey.

Bernheim began her film and television career in 1978, entering the industry later in life. From 1978 to 1979, she portrayed the recurring character Polly the Prize Lady on The Cheap Show, a program hosted by Dick Martin. Her screen work continued until 2004, concluding with a second appearance on Law & Order.

Her Broadway career spanned from 1976 to 2002, with her sole stage credit being The Tale of the Allergist's Wife. Bernheim made her Broadway debut in that production on October 12, 2000, at the age of 79, playing Frieda, the mother of the central character. The lead role was performed by Linda Lavin and subsequently by Valerie Harper. Bernheim remained with the production through its closing on May 26, 2002.
