Scotty Bloch, born Barbara Belle Scott on January 28, 1925, in New Rochelle, New York, was an American stage and television actress whose career spanned several decades. She died on September 15, 2018, in Niantic, Connecticut, at the age of 93, from Alzheimer's disease.
Bloch began her acting career in the 1940s and worked steadily across stage and television throughout her professional life. Her Broadway appearances came between 1979 and 1980 and included two productions: The Price and Mark Medoff's Children of a Lesser God, the latter staged at the Longacre Theatre in New York. On television, she took on a recurring role in the series Kate and Allie, portraying the mother of Jane Curtin's character, and also appeared as Lucille O'Brien in the dramatic series Kay O'Brien. In 1989, she appeared in the short film The Lunch Date, written and directed by Adam Davidson, which went on to win both an Academy Award and the Palme d'Or.
In her personal life, Bloch married Daniel Bloch in 1948. The couple remained married until his death in 2013 and had two sons together, Andrew and Anthony.
