Sarah Long (18 March 1938 – 23 November 1987) was an English actress and television presenter who appeared on Broadway in 1962, with credits including Romeo + Juliet and Macbeth.
Born in London, Long began her stage career as a young actress in the West End, where she achieved early success in two notable productions. She played Anne Callifer in Graham Greene's The Potting Shed and took on the role of Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank. Her screen work during this period included the role of Evelyn Harrington in the 1960 film Village of the Damned.
Long's Broadway appearances came in 1962, when she performed in productions of Romeo + Juliet and Macbeth. She later returned to film, portraying the young Queen Mary in the 1972 adaptation Henry VIII and his Six Wives.
From September 1971 until May 1986, Long served as a presenter on the preschool children's television series Play School, a tenure of nearly fifteen years that became the most prominent chapter of her career.
Long was married to television actor Peter Baldwin, and the couple had two children. She died in London on 23 November 1987, following a diagnosis of cancer, at the age of 49.
