Sarah-Jane Gwillim is a British stage and television actress whose career spanned primarily from the mid-1960s through the 1980s. She currently holds a position as Assistant Professor of Acting at the University of Michigan.
Gwillim began her stage career as a member of the repertory company at Nottingham Playhouse in 1966. The following year, she appeared in the short-lived ABC television series Sat'day While Sunday (1967), alongside Malcolm McDowell and Timothy Dalton. In 1970, she took part in a television adaptation of Howards End, appearing opposite Glenda Jackson.
Her Broadway career ran from 1977 to 1980 and included productions of Saint Joan and Major Barbara. The external biography also associates her name with a revival of Macbeth during her time working on Broadway.
Gwillim comes from a family with deep roots in the acting profession. Her father, Jack Gwillim, was an actor, and her brothers David Gwillim and Jaxon Duff Gwillim have also pursued acting careers. In 1983, she married stage actor Philip Kerr, and the couple have two daughters, Emma and Caroline.
