Sara Chase is an American actress and singer born on August 3, 1983, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Arnold and Sandy Chase. She graduated from Boston University and went on to build a career spanning theater, television, and film.

Chase began her performance career in New York and Los Angeles, where she appeared in the two-woman sketch comedy show Jen & Angie at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Her stage work expanded to include a pre-Broadway production of Roman Holiday and an off-Broadway run of The Toxic Avenger, for which she can be heard on the original cast album. She created the role of Principal Rosalie Mullins in the off-Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Fellowes' School of Rock at the Gramercy Theatre. In the pre-Broadway run of First Wives Club, Chase played all three mistresses, a performance that earned her the Best Supporting Actress award from the San Diego Theatre Critics.

Her Broadway career spans from 2013 to 2026 and includes First Date, for which she is featured on the original cast album, and the musical Schmigadoon!. She originated the role of Myrtle Wilson in the Broadway production of The Great Gatsby.

On television, Chase is best known for playing Cyndee Pokorny on the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She also appeared as a regular on Comedy Central's Michael & Michael Have Issues and had guest roles on The Office, Mercy, and Arrested Development. In 2021, she voiced the character Sasha Reed in the episode "The Star of the Backstage" from season 33 of The Simpsons. Her film credits include The Other Guys, Arthur, Hello I Must Be Going, and Little Black Book. Her comedy work has been featured at the Women in Comedy Festival, the New York Comedy Festival, and UsWeekly.com.

Chase married Elliot Stieglitz in June 2012 and filed for divorce in April 2013.
