Sandra Purpuro

Sandra Purpuro is an American actress whose work spans Broadway, film, and television. She made her Broadway debut in the 1994 production of Grease, directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun. Ben Brantley of The New York Times singled her out in his review, writing that "the liveliest bonafide dancing comes from Sandra Purpuro, as the exotic outsider at the senior prom."

Purpuro's stage career extends beyond Broadway. In 1991 she appeared in the musical comedy Prom Queens Unchained, and in 2009 she took part in the production Red, Hot and Blue. The following year she performed in Cold Lang Syne, directed by Douglas Green. In 2011 she played the role of Livvy in The Sonneteer, written by Nick Salamone, and she also appeared in Kristen Lazarian's Love Like Blue.

On television, Purpuro is best known for her recurring roles as Katherine McClain on the HBO drama Oz and as Liz Labella on DiResta. She appeared in the 2003 crime series The Handler as Gloria Flores, and her credits include Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and Switched at Birth. Guest appearances across her television career include Caroline in the City, NYPD Blue, Six Feet Under, The Shield, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Will & Grace, Two and a Half Men, Desperate Housewives, Malcolm in the Middle, The Suite Life on Deck, House M.D., Modern Family, and 24.

Her film work includes a role in Lethal Weapon. In 2006 she starred in the short film Man vs. Monday, directed by Ian Ziering.
