About

Samuel Roukin is an English-American actor, writer, and DJ born on 15 August 1980 in Southport, England, who currently resides in Los Angeles. He completed his secondary education at Merchant Taylors' School in Crosby, where he participated in numerous school productions and has since returned to lead acting workshops for students in drama and English. He went on to train at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 2003.

Roukin made his Broadway debut in 2012 in Cyrano de Bergerac. His stage work has also included the role of Bagot in Richard II, a production directed by Rupert Goold and produced by Sam Mendes as part of the cultural Olympiad of Shakespeare, which aired on BBC2 and NBC.

His screen career began with a prominent role in Mike Leigh's 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky, in which he played the love interest opposite Sally Hawkins's character Poppy. He subsequently appeared in ITV's two-part pilot for DCI Banks, portraying one half of a serial killing couple, and in the ITV1 drama Appropriate Adult, a two-part production centered on the capture of serial killers Fred West and Rosemary West, in which Roukin played a detective.

Roukin is perhaps most widely recognized for his portrayal of British Lieutenant-Colonel John Graves Simcoe, a central antagonist in the AMC period drama Turn: Washington's Spies, which premiered in 2014 and follows a network of spies during the American Revolutionary War. In 2022, he announced via Twitter that he had taken on the role of Simon "Ghost" Riley in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, succeeding Jeff Leach in the part, and reprised the role in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. In a 2016 interview, Roukin disclosed that he is a husband and father.
