About

Sami Gayle, born Samantha Gail Klitzman on January 22, 1996, in Weston, Florida, is an American actress whose career spans Broadway, television, and film. Raised in a Jewish family, she is the daughter of attorney Larry Klitzman and Robin Klitzman, who previously owned her own business and now serves as her daughter's agent. Gayle was home-schooled under Advanced Placement curricula and achieved national ranking in Public Forum Debate, earning two bids to compete at the Tournament of Champions. She later attended Columbia University, where she studied political science and art history, graduating in 2018.

Gayle's theatrical career began with an off-Broadway production of Gypsy starring Patti LuPone, in which she played Baby June. When the production transferred to Broadway, she reprised the role. Her Broadway work continued with the 2007 production of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, and she returned to Broadway in 2023 to originate the role of Adele the stepsister in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bad Cinderella. Beyond Broadway, she appeared in the off-Broadway plays Oohrah! at the Atlantic Theatre Company and Family Week at MCC Theatre, the latter directed by Jonathan Demme.

On television, Gayle is best known for portraying Nicky Reagan in the CBS series Blue Bloods, a role she held as a regular character from seasons two through ten before making limited appearances in season eleven and the series finale. She also had a recurring role on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns and guest starred on USA's Royal Pains. Her film credits include Detachment, directed by Tony Kaye and released in 2012, as well as Stolen and The Congress, both from 2012 and 2013 respectively. She co-starred in the 2014 film Vampire Academy as Mia Rinaldi and starred in the Netflix romantic comedy Candy Jar in 2018.
