Ruth Lee (September 14, 1895 – August 3, 1975) was an American actress who worked in both stage and film. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she trained at a dramatic school in that city before embarking on a professional career in theater.
Lee built her stage foundation through extensive regional work prior to her New York career. She spent three years performing with the Shubert Theater in Minneapolis and also acted in stock theater with the National Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Her Broadway career spanned more than two decades, from 1919 to 1941. She made her debut on Broadway as a chorus member in Apple Blossoms in 1919 and went on to appear in a range of productions over the following years, including Window Shopping, Case History, In the Bag, and Lost Horizons. Her final Broadway appearance came in 1941, when she played the role of Muriel Payne in Your Loving Son.
Beyond the stage, Lee also worked as a film actress. She was married to the actor Grandon Rhodes. Lee died on August 3, 1975, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, at the age of 79.
