About
Rubén J. Carbajal is an American actor born on February 26, 1993, who began his performing career at the age of five appearing in commercials, including spots for Chuck E. Cheese and Propositions. He also appeared in a college student film titled One Last Run, in which he played the son of the main character.
Carbajal's early television work included appearances on Zoey 101 and Punk'd, as well as a role in the NBC miniseries Kingpin, in which he shared the screen with Yancey Arias, Sheryl Lee, Bobby Cannavale, and Angela Alvarado Rosa, among others. He attended Loyola High School of Los Angeles, graduating in 2011.
On the stage, Carbajal is best known for his work in Hamilton, in which he portrays the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. He first took on those roles during the first national tour of the production, then reprised them on the third national tour, which launched in Puerto Rico in January 2019. His Broadway run with Hamilton spans 2015 to 2019.
