About
Ron Rich is an American actor, writer, and producer born in 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He built a career across film, television, and stage, with work spanning the mid-1960s through the late 1980s.
Rich gained significant film exposure through Billy Wilder's 1966 comedy The Fortune Cookie, in which he portrayed football player Luther "Boom Boom" Jackson. He followed that role with an appearance in the 1968 film Chubasco, playing a character named Juno. Later that same year, he served as writer and producer on Ghost Fever, released in 1986.
His television work began in the mid-1960s with small appearances on prominent series of the era. He appeared in an uncredited role as an onlooker in a 1964 episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and took on the role of Oliver in a 1965 episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., returning to that series the same year as a Marine in a separate episode. Also in 1965, Rich made multiple uncredited appearances on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., appearing in three separate episodes as a pedestrian, an audience member, and a speech spectator. That year he also appeared uncredited as a reporter in the premiere episode of I Spy, later returning to that series in 1967 in a named role as Roger. In 1968, he played Richy Lemoine across two consecutive episodes of Mission Impossible, appeared as Bob Nybolt in Julia, and took the role of Dick January in The Wild Wild West.
Rich made his Broadway debut in 1969, appearing in Buck White. The production marked his sole credited Broadway appearance.
