About

Rolla Norman, born Edouard Charles Normand in 1889, was a French actor who worked in both stage and film throughout his career. He died in 1971.

Norman's film career spanned several decades, beginning in the silent era. Among his earliest screen appearances was The Assassination of the Duke of Guise in 1908. He continued working in French cinema through the 1920s, with credits including The Advocate in 1925 and Gribiche in 1926. His film work extended into the sound era, with appearances in Counter Investigation in 1930, Checkmate in 1931, and The Yellow Dog and Antoinette, both in 1932. Norman appeared in The House of Mystery in 1933, Cease Firing in 1934, and The Mysteries of Paris in 1935. His later film credits included The Two Boys in 1936, Peace on the Rhine in 1938, Goodbye Vienna and The Porter from Maxim's in 1939, Facing Destiny in 1940, and Notre-Dame de la Mouise in 1941.

In addition to his film work, Norman performed on the stage, including a Broadway appearance in 1926. His Broadway credit was the play Maitresse De Roi.
