About
After training at the School of American Ballet in New York, Rodney Strong spent four years dancing in Paris, where he acquired a passion for wine. He relocated to California in 1959 to pursue winemaking, founding Tiburon Vintners—a operation that bought bulk wine, bottled it, and sold it to tourists. In 1962 he purchased Windsor Vineyards in northern Sonoma County. Later renamed Rodney Strong Vineyards, the winery helped lead Sonoma County's transformation from rustic farmland into one of the country's finest wine regions.
