Robyn Hurder

Robyn Hurder is an American musical theater actress originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, who grew up in Windham, Maine, outside of Portland. Born on January 1, 1982, she trained as a dancer and singer from a young age and attended the University of New Hampshire for two years before relocating to New York City to pursue a career in musical theater. She has maintained an active Broadway presence spanning from 1996 to 2025 and is married to fellow Broadway performer Clyde Alves.

Hurder made her mark on Broadway through a series of notable productions across multiple decades. Her earlier credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2005, The Wedding Singer in 2006, and Grease, which ran from 2007 to 2008. She subsequently appeared in Nice Work If You Can Get It during its 2012–2013 run. Beyond Broadway, Hurder participated in the national tours of Starlight Express from 2003 to 2004, Spamalot in 2006, and A Chorus Line in 2010, as well as a number of regional productions and Encores! stagings.

Hurder originated two significant roles in Broadway productions. She created the role of Ivy Lynn, the actress who portrays Marilyn Monroe, in the Broadway musical adaptation of Smash. She also originated the role of Nini in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, the stage adaptation of the celebrated film. That performance earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical in 2020. She subsequently appeared in A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical in 2023.
