Robyn Griggs

Robyn Griggs (April 30, 1973 – August 13, 2022) was an American actress whose work spanned musical theatre, television, and film. A native of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, she built a career across multiple performance disciplines before her death at age 49.

Griggs entered the entertainment industry as a child performer, taking on the role of Molly in Annie and serving as host of the Nickelodeon program Rated K. Her early television work led to a recurring presence in daytime drama, most notably as Stephanie Hobart on One Life to Live from 1991 to 1992, a performance that earned her a nomination at the 14th Youth in Film Awards in the category of Best Young Actress in a Daytime Series. She subsequently joined the cast of Another World, portraying Maggie Cory from 1993 to 1995.

Her Broadway credit came in 1992, when she appeared in Metro. The engagement placed her stage work alongside her concurrent television commitments, a dual schedule she later described as exhausting. Following her departure from Another World in 1995 — a separation that generated public dispute between Griggs and the show's producers over its circumstances — she appeared on the program Hard Copy to address the matter. That same year she stepped away from acting, citing the demands of performing on television during the day and in theatre at night.

Griggs resumed her career in 2003, concentrating primarily on independent horror films, among them Zombiegeddon. In 2020 she publicly disclosed a diagnosis of stage IV cervical cancer. She died of the disease on August 13, 2022.
