About
Robert Milli (March 15, 1933 – July 18, 2019) was an American actor born in Brooklyn, New York, whose career spanned Broadway, film, and television. He studied theater at Catholic University and the University of Maryland before establishing himself across multiple performance mediums.
Milli made his Broadway debut in 1961 and continued appearing on stage through 1969. His Broadway credits include Ross (1961), Write Me a Murder (1961), The Rehearsal (1963), A Severed Head (1964), Hamlet (1964), and The Front Page (1969). Among his stage work, he played Horatio in the 1964 production of Hamlet, which starred Richard Burton.
His television career became the most sustained dimension of his professional life. He originated the role of Dr. Jim Craig on the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live, a part he held from 1968 to 1969. He subsequently joined the cast of the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, where he portrayed Adam Thorpe from 1972 to 1981, returning to the role intermittently during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Milli also appeared on the daytime dramas Another World, Somerset, All My Children, and Love is a Many Splendored Thing, as well as the primetime series Spenser for Hire and Law & Order.
In film, Milli had a supporting role in Klute.
