Robert Logan

Robert Francis Logan was an American actor born on May 29, 1941, in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The eldest of seven children, he was the son of bank executive Francis Logan and Catherine Quigley. Known in his youth as "R.J.," Logan was active in high school sports and earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Arizona at Tucson, where he was discovered by a talent agent from Warner Bros.

Logan built a substantial television career beginning in the early 1960s. From 1961 to 1963, he appeared on ABC's 77 Sunset Strip, playing J.R. Hale, a young valet parking attendant who succeeded the character Kookie, previously portrayed by Edward Byrnes, after Kookie advanced to become a full-fledged investigator in the show's storyline. He continued in television from 1965 to 1966, taking on the role of Jericho Jones in NBC's Daniel Boone.

On the film side, Logan became particularly recognized for his work in family-oriented productions, most notably the Wilderness Family film series, which brought him considerable visibility during the 1970s.

Logan also established a presence on the Broadway stage. In 1979, he appeared in both On the Twentieth Century and Evita, adding theatrical credits to his career in film and television.

Logan had two children: a daughter from his first marriage and a son, Anthony Logan, from his second. He died on May 6, 2024, twenty-three days before what would have been his 83rd birthday.
