Robert Dryden (February 8, 1917 – December 16, 2003) was an American actor and voice-over performer born in New York. His career encompassed radio, television, theater, and film work across more than four decades.
Dryden made his presence felt on Broadway between 1938 and 1962, with stage credits that included Night Life and The Hill Between. These theatrical engagements formed part of a broader performance career that extended well beyond the stage.
Radio represented a particularly substantial portion of Dryden's professional output. He portrayed Sergeant Maggio on Call the Police and contributed to a wide range of programs, among them The FBI in Peace and War, The Shadow, The Fat Man, Big Town, Gang Busters, and The Adventures of Superman. Later in his career he appeared on CBS Radio Mystery Theater and The General Mills Radio Adventure Theater.
Dryden also worked in television, with appearances on Naked City, The Web, Route 66, and Saturday Night Live.
