Robert Breuler is an American stage actor based in Chicago, Illinois, who has built his career primarily as a longtime ensemble member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Over the course of his association with Steppenwolf, he has appeared in more than 40 productions with the company.
Among his most recognized stage work is his performance as a Russian negotiator in A Walk in the Woods at Steppenwolf, a role for which he received a Joseph Jefferson Award.
Breuler's Broadway career spans the 1990s, during which he appeared in four productions. His credits include The Grapes of Wrath, Death of a Salesman, The Song of Jacob Zulu, and Carousel, with his Broadway appearances occurring between 1990 and 1999.
In addition to his stage work, Breuler has appeared on screen. His most notable film role is that of Judge John Hathorne in the 1996 film adaptation of The Crucible.
