Richard Parnell Habersham

Richard Parnell Habersham is an American actor, real estate broker, and nonprofit founder born in Manhattan and raised in Harlem. His work spans theatre, film, and civic engagement in New York City.

Habersham's Broadway career includes a 1988 appearance in Joe Turner's Come and Gone, the Tony Award nominated drama written by August Wilson, a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright. His stage work also encompasses Ron Mark's fantasy farce Panache! and an Off-Broadway role as Travis Younger in the Union Square Theatre's 25th Anniversary production of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun.

His film credits include the role of Eddie in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, Theodore Cotter in The Long Walk Home, and the young Jake Branch in the black-and-white independent feature Lou, Pat & Joe D. He also appeared as Cathy's younger brother in The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez, a musical comedy horror spoof directed by Peter Sellars.

Habersham holds a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia, with a particular interest in the American Civil War, and an M.S. in real estate development from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture. He has applied that academic background to a career as a real estate broker in New York City.

Beyond his professional work, Habersham ran for New York's 13th Congressional District in 2019 and founded the nonprofit organization solutionsNOW, which was established to serve members of that community.
